Secondly, you will also have to register at the Residents’ Registration Office, known as Bürgeramt in Germany. There, you can obtain a residence permit. Mind you, you have to obtain a residence permit to open a German bank account and to receive your personal residence number. If you are coming for work of internship, the same thing applies. Visa is not required, but these two registrations are. You can enter Germany before you find employment.

Start organizing your move on time. This means at least 3 months in advance. Find a reliable Japanese moving company. Start learning the German language if you plan to live there for more than 6 months. You should have a decent command of the English language as well.
